Photo of the Week (POTW) Rules

How to participate: 

  • Each POTW round starts with the FB announcement of last week’s winners (Friday morning) and ends the next Wednesday at noon.
  • Find the POTW post on APK's Facebook page and add your parkour pic in the comments section below this post.
  • Only one photo per person per week.
  • Two winners are selected each week: 
    1. The photo with the most likes wins a $25 coupon (People's Choice Award)
    2. A panel of APK judges will also award a $25 coupon (Critics' Choice Award)
  • Winners are announced Thursday evening on the APK Store Newsletter and Friday morning on Facebook
  • Awarded coupons apply only to APK gear.
  • POTW winners cannot re-enter the contest until the next month.
  • International participants are responsible for covering import charges (when applicable)

    General Contest Rules

    All content must be original and fully owned by the submitter, photos must be at least 2048X1024 original resolution. Photos must be in the spirit of the given contest.

    Prizes will be determined solely by American Parkour Company Inc. 

    Prizes may be substituted for equal or greater value if unavailable due to size, preference, or unforeseen circumstance.

     

    You will retain all rights to any photograph and or video you submit -- including ownership if applicable. By Entering, you grant American Parkour Company rights (as described below) to your photograph and or video.

    You grant American Parkour Company a royalty-free, nonexclusive right, in perpetuity, to:

    • Use the photograph on the Internet in support of our mission.
    • Use the photograph in American Parkour Company’s commercial and non-commercial communications.
    • Use the photograph in American Parkour Company’s commercial and non-commercial products.
    • APK-related use in news stories, newsletters, reports, slide shows, displays, web pages, and the like.
    • Use, in connection with the Contest, your name, city, state and country of residence in promotions and other publications.
    • Keep the files provided, and to archive the images on CD or in other electronic forms, so that your photos can be used to support our mission 

    As conditions of this permission, American Parkour Company shall credit all photographs when appropriate.

    By entering, participants agree to indemnify, defend and hold harmless American Parkour Company, its respective subsidiaries, affiliates, directors, officers, employees, attorneys, agents and representatives, from any and all third party liability for any injuries, loss, claim, action, demand or damage of any kind arising from or in connection with the competition (collectively, "Losses"), including without limitation any third party claim for copyright infringement or a violation of an individual’s right to privacy and/or publicity right. The Contest is void where prohibited by law.

    Each entrant in the Contest (each a "Entrant") is responsible for ensuring that he or she has the right to submit the photos, videos, and other materials that he or she submits to the Contest per these rules.

    Each entrant in the Contest (each a "Entrant") cannot win multiple American Parkour Company contests in one (1) month. Each entrant is eligible to win the Contest once a month has passed after their previous win.

    You agree that any and all disputes that cannot be resolved with American Parkour, and causes of action arising out of or connected with this Contest, shall be resolved individually, without resort to any form of class action, before a court of competent jurisdiction located in Washington, District of Columbia, which court shall apply the laws of the  District of Columbia without regard for rules of conflicts of law. IN ANY SUCH DISPUTE, PARTICIPANT SHALL NOT BE ENTITLED TO ANY PUNITIVE, SPECIAL, INDIRECT, INCIDENTAL OR CONSEQUENTIAL DAMAGES, INCLUDING WITHOUT LIMITATION ATTORNEYS' FEES, OR ANY DAMAGES OTHER THAN PARTICIPANT'S ACTUAL OUT-OF-POCKET EXPENSES (IF ANY) ASSOCIATED WITH PARTICIPATING IN THE CONTEST. YOU HEREBY WAIVE ANY RIGHTS TO HAVE DAMAGES MULTIPLIED OR INCREASED. The Contest and American Parkour Company’s website are provided "as is" without warranty of any kind, either express or implied.
